Bangladesh's seasons are intense — and so is the impact on baby skin. Here's how to adjust your routine through the year.
Monsoon (June – September)
High humidity = sweat rash, fungal infections, and prickly heat. Bath baby twice a day with plain water (one wash a day max). Pat dry every skin fold. Use a light dusting powder in the neck and groin folds. Avoid heavy lotions.
Winter (December – February)
Dry skin, eczema flares, cracked cheeks. Switch to a richer cream (Johnson's milk cream, Mothercare baby balm). Massage with warm mustard or sesame oil for 10 minutes before bath. Reduce bath frequency to every other day. Keep the room at 22–24 °C, not too dry.
Spring & Summer (March – May)
Use SPF 30+ sun cream on exposed skin if going outside. A wide-brim sun hat is non-negotiable. Cotton, cotton, cotton — synthetics trap heat and cause rash.
